Green Teams for Schools

Start a Green Team at your school or educational facility today! It's easy!  Simply join our community to access our comprehensive environmental education program called
Educate & Act®.  See Educate & Act® at an elementary school.

Educate & Act® is designed for students in grades 3-12, and educates students on sustainability, environmental issues and conservation. For schools struggling to get their students to recycle, we believe education is the key.  Educate & Act® helps students understand the "why" behind recycling.

This free program provides twenty-one unit topics, with easy-to-deliver lesson plans that include PowerPoint presentations, activities, web resources, templates and project checklists.

Educate & Act® is used by over 200 educational facilities in 24states.  Each site is using the program differently.  Some facilities choose to use the program in their science or language arts curriculum.  Other facilities are using the units weekly in an after school enrichment program or environmental club.

Students in the program not only learn the value of caring for the environment, but they have fun along the way.  Students participate in recycled crafts, recycled games, gardening and composting, planning and delivering outreach events, and utilizing technology to educate others.

How it works

Simply REGISTER here to access the curriculum materials.

If you are a classroom teacher, pick and choose which lessons you wish to deliver.  Each lesson unit can be delivered as a stand-alone unit.  The individual units can be completed in one to three class periods.

If you are a home school parent, simply follow the lesson plans provided and allow your child to review the PowerPoint slides at their own pace.

If you are a youth organization or a PTO/PTA interested in offering the program as an after school enrichment program, the program is best delivered once a week (1-2 hours a day) in the order suggested from the website.  The Administration files in the WELCOME PACKET, provide parent permission templates, budget templates and other helpful guides and information.
