Sarah Boren   Executive Director

Sarah is the Executive Director of the Green Team Project, a program of the Tides Center and a solutions-oriented national non-profit that helps individuals and small businesses save money by becoming environmentally-friendly in their everyday practices.  She is also the Executive Director of the US Green Building Council North Florida Chapter.  As her volunteer work, Sarah co-organizes Sustainable Jacksonville and is Vice President and Co-Founder of the NE FL Green Chamber.  She has over twenty years of professional experience in the environmental sustainability field in the non-profit, private and government sectors including at the Smithsonian Institution in DC and green business consulting in CA and FL.  Sarah received her BA in Politics and a minor in Chinese from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1991 and a Masters of Environmental Management in Resource Economics, Policy and Business, including corporate environmental management, from Duke University in 1999.

Ann Boren   Founder

Ann Boren is an environmental advocate with a wide range of experience in starting and managing educational programs for environmental, cultural and governmental organizations.She is the founder and past executive director of The Green Team Project. She also founded Scenic California, an affiliate of Scenic America, and served as chairman of the board. During the Clinton Administration, sheserved on the Public Linkage and Education Task Force of the President's Council on Sustainable Development.Under President George H.W. Bush, Ann was a special assistant to EPA Administrator William Reilly and the director of EPA's Earth Day program in 1990.  Before entering government service, Ann worked as assistant director of development at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, and was president of theJunior League of Los Angeles. Ann earned a B.A. from Stanford University and an M.A. in Urban Studies from Occidental College.

Tyler Gerhart Wood   Author of Educate & Act (school curriculum)

Ms. Wood is the author of Educate & Act® and is the President & CMO of Cogent Education, a science education software company.  Before taking this position, Tyler was a consultant for education software companies and worked for Apple for nine years, where she held various management positions in the Education Marketing division. She was responsible for creating and managing the first wireless laptop cart solution, which is one of the most widely adopted solutions to date. She also managed third-party curriculum developers, content and production of Apple’s professional development courses and iLife digital curriculum.  Tyler has worked in the education industry for over twenty years serving various roles as a teacher, director, regional board member and environmental instructor.  She is the group owner of the Green Education Consortium on LinkedIn, a group with over 700 members, designed to share green practices, solutions, grants, resources and curriculum for schools.  Tyler is a LEED Green Associate and a certified Green Classroom Professional by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). She also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Child Development, and a Master’s Degree in Teaching, Educational Technology.

  Carrie-Lynn Black   NE Florida Program Coordinator

  Carrie-Lynn Black is the NE Florida Program Coordinator for Green Team  Project. Carrie-Lynn  oversees   the  JEA Home Energy & Water Evaluation  Backpack Kit Program and Green Teams for  adults and           businesses.  She has  experience developing and managing non-profit and campaign  volunteer  and         outreach programs.  Prior to joining Green Team Project, she was a  manager in  the financial industry,     leading numerous customer experience  projects and training associates.  Additionally, Carrie-Lynn is a     Board Member of the U.S. Green Building Council North Florida Chapter and Co-Organizer of the Green     Lion Festival.  She  double-majored in Psychology and Anthropology, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree       from Washington University in St. Louis and recently finished her Master of Science in Environmental         Planning and Management at Johns Hopkins University.  In her free time, she enjoys working out,             reading, developing her green thumb, spending time with her husband and dog, and taking care of her     chickens.
