Sustainable Workplace Designation

Inspired by the Harvard University Green Offices, Sustainable Workplace  Designation (SWD) recognizes workplaces- large and small- that are implementing  environmentally responsible practices across their business operations.

Whether a workplace is just starting to incorporate more resource efficient  practices or began their business with these in mind, SWD rewards each for their  efforts.

Tell Me More

SWD has four levels or leaves, with the action steps to  earn each leaf becoming slightly more difficult than the  previous leaf. Once a workplace earns one leaf, they are  a designated GreenSpot.  Areas that SWD covers, include:

  • Energy
  • Waste & Recycling
  • Water
  • Food, Kitchen, & Break rooms
  • Chemicals
  • Transportation
  • Communications & Employee Engagement

Stand out from the Crowd

SWD recognizes your workplace for actions you are already taking to reduce your  environmental impact, as well as provide a structured program with resources and  assistance to implement more to achieve a Leaf 4 designation.

Let your current and future customers know that your workplace values its local  community and the quality of the environment in which we live.  Workplaces earn  a GreenSpot SWD window decal after earning Leaf 1, as well as receive a SWD  seal  indicating their achievement Leaf to include on company letterhead and  communications.
